Lions fall to SAC leading Bears
The Mars Hill women's soccer team (3-3-1, 0-2-1 SAC) was defeated 3-1 by Lenoir-Rhyne (4-2-2, 4-0-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (3-3-1, 0-2-1 SAC) was defeated 3-1 by Lenoir-Rhyne (4-2-2, 4-0-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
Kate Casey opened the scoring in the 37th minute, heading home her first of the game and the season. The goal was assisted on by Ria Acton.
Just over three minutes later, Acton scored her second of the season, plotting the ball low inside the far post to up the Bears lead to two.
Marianne Ross broke the shutout bid, netting her second in as many games and third of the season with 11 seconds remaining in the half off of a free kick from around 20 yards out.
Casey, just over a minute into the second half, netted her second of the game off of another header.
Lenoir-Rhyne outshot the Lions 19-5 with Evan O'Leary leading all players with four shots. Zoie Steinkamp led the Lions with three shot attempts.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, September 28 when they take on Carson-Newman on the road. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
