MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-1-1 SAC) drew 1-1 versus Tusculum (4-2-1, 0-2-1 SAC) Wednesday evening inside Meares Stadium.
Mars Hill opened the scoring in the 28th minute as Marianne Ross netted her second goal of the season. Taking an area pass from Carla Humera, Ross launched a shot from around 20 yards out, just inside the right elbow.
Just over five minutes later, Trystan Wepking knotted the game at one with her first of the season, lofting a shot over the fingertips of Camryn Miller.
Tusculum continued to pressure in the second half, outshooting Mars Hill 10-5 with Miller making six saves in the frame. The Pioneers outshot Mars Hill 22-8 in the contest.
Taylor Youmans led all players with six shot attempts followed by four from Bailey Bylotas. Kenzie Quinley led the Lions with four shot attempts.
Grayson Patterson stopped five shots while Miller made a season-high 10 saves.
The Lions wrap up their four-game homestand on Saturday, September 24 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
