MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's soccer team (4-5-1, 1-4-1 SAC) shutout Lincoln Memorial (1-9-0, 0-6-0 SAC) by a score of 2-0 Wednesday evening.
This is the Lion's first conference victory since 2019 and their second shutout of the season.
Only six minutes into the game, Zoie Steinkamp scored a goal unassisted. With less than ten minutes to go in the first half, Kenzie Quinley scored the Lion's second goal as Bailey Whitehead-Price assisted. Both Steinkamp and Quinley led the team in shots taken with three total shots. Following them was Carla Humera with two shot attempts.
Lincoln Memorial had 13 total shots at the goal with Ryan Branson leading in four total attempts.
Camryn Miller made six saves for the shutout. Bente Latenstein had one save out of the three shot attempts.
The team will next be in action on Saturday, October 8 when they face Wingate. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
