
Mars Hill draws with Wasps on Senior Night
The Mars Hill women’s soccer team (4-7-2, 1-6-2 SAC) tied Emory & Henry (2-9-1, 0-8-1 SAC) 1-1 for Senior Night this Friday.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (4-7-2, 1-6-2 SAC) tied Emory & Henry (2-9-1, 0-8-1 SAC) 1-1 for Senior Night this Friday.
The Lions had a strong offensive game with 23 total shot attempts. The Wasp attempted only eight shots in the contest. Kenzie Quinley led the Lions with seven attempts compared to Olivia Haynes, Helen Frazier, and Karlijn Keuters who attempted two shots apiece.
Zoie Steinkamp scored the goal for Mars Hill only two minutes into the game. Haynes tied the game in the 55th minute with her second of the year.
Camryn Miller had four total saves for the Lions while Victoria Forren had two. Natalie Capone stopped seven.
Prior to the start of the match, five seniors, Victoria Forren, Audrey Scoggins, Shannon Hall, Amanda Waskiewicz, and Celine Hartung were recognized for their contributions to the team.
The Lions will face Newberry on the road at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19. They will play the remaining 30 minutes from their weather delayed match on September 7.
