Women's Tennis Defeats North Greenville
Mars Hill defeated North Greenville 5-4 on Thursday
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's tennis team defeated North Greenville 5-4 on Thursday afternoon at Hart Tennis Complex. Mars Hill improves to 2-2 on the season.
The Lions held a 2-1 lead after doubles play thanks to wins at the number one and number three courts. Lucy McLaurin and Jasha Geerdink defeated Christina Kiessling and Camille Duhan 8-4 while Samantha Echevarria and Natalie Hilbig were 8-3 winners over Greysen Helms and Ann Hayden Huxton 8-3.
After the Crusaders tied the match with a win at number three singles, Geerdink and Echevarria claimed victories at number one (6-4, 6-3) and number two (6-0, 7-5) singles. McLaurin clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Helms at number four singles.
Mars Hill travels to Tusculum on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
