
Women's Tennis Earns 2016 ITA All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete Awards
TEMPE, AZ. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors for the 2015-16 academic season, the organization announced today.
TEMPE, AZ. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors for the 2015-16 academic season, the organization announced today. Additionally, Samantha Echevarria, Jade Henke, Jasha Geerdink, Luz Heilman, Natalie Hilbig, and Hannah Hill earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
The Lions garnered the prestigious honor after completing a successful academic year with a team grade point average of 3.20 or better (on a 4.00 scale). All eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA, NAIA or Junior/Community College eligibility form and have competed in one or more varsity matches must average into the GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2015 and spring 2016).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity winner that has a GPA of at least 3.50 in the current academic year. The student-athlete also must have been enrolled at the school for at least two semesters.
