Lions Dismantle Tornado For Conference Win

BREVARD, N.C. – The Mars Hill women’s tennis team collected a conference win over the Brevard Tornado on Wednesday, March 23.

BREVARD, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's tennis team collected a conference win over the Brevard Tornado on Wednesday, March 23. The Lions dismantled the Tornado by a score of 8-1 to pick up their first South Atlantic Conference win of the season.

Jasha Geerdink continued her impressive streak with a hard fought 6-1, 1-6, 10-4 win over Anita Maryskova. In all the singles wins, MHU took every first set and aside from Geerdink's three-set win, all others were won in straight sets. The Lions had very little trouble in doubles, dominating Brevard the entire match with three wins (8-3, 8-1, 8-1).

Mars Hill will return to action on Saturday, March 26 as they play host to conference foe Queens. The match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
