Giggetts sets MHU record at SAC Championships
Eleven Lions qualified to compete in the 2024 SAC Outdoor T&F Conference Championship hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University on May 1st & 2nd.
HICKORY, N.C. - Eleven Lions qualified to compete in the 2024 SAC Outdoor T&F Conference Championship hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University on May 1st & 2nd.
The Lions scored 1 point overall as a team and finished 13th overall.
Simone Giggetts earned the sole point for the Lions with her eighth place finish in the 100m Hurdles. Giggetts placed eighth in the prelims with a new school record time of 14.71s. Giggetts placed eighth in the finals, earning one point for the team.
Additional Meet Highlights:
Alina Mueller competed in the Heptathlon. The Heptathlon is comprised of seven events taking place over the two-day meet. Alina's combined score of 3779 points is a new collegiate best for her. Mueller placed ninth overall.
Lindsey Jenkins competed in the 800m run, placing 16th overall with a time of 2:27.11.
Hannah Frazer competed in the 5000m run, placing 27th overall with a time of 21:54.79.
La'Miya Blake placed 16th in Shot Put with a personal best throw of 10.42m (34' 2.25"). Blake competed in Discus as well, placing 25th with a throw of 25.04m.
Bailey Beeman placed 23rd overall in Shot Put with a throw of 9.47m (31' 1"). Beeman competed in Discus and Hammer throw as well. Beeman placed 20th in Discus with a throw of 27.89m (91' 6"). Beeman placed 25th in Hammer with a throw of 25.69m (84' 3").
Emma Bridges placed 15th in Javelin with a throw of 25.37m (83' 3").
Maya Adams placed 25th in Javelin with a throw of 13.77m and 26th in Long Jump with a mark of 4.43m (14' 6.5").
