Corsini Sets Meet Record in Opening Day of Sewanee Invitational
Ludovico Corsini broke a meet record while Brett Malmstrom also claimed an individual victory in the opening day of Sewanee Invitational on Friday.
SEWANEE, TENN.- Ludovico Corsini broke a meet record while Brett Malmstrom also claimed an individual victory in the opening day of Sewanee Invitational on Friday. The Lions are in second place with 300.5 points.
Corsini crossed the finish line in 26.16 seconds in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, nearly two seconds faster than the second place finisher. Corsini teamed up with Kendall Corbett, Brady Rothschild and David Hallberg to finish third in the 100 Yard Medley Relay.
Malmstrom claimed the 1650 Freestyle in 17:18.33, nearly 30 seconds ahead of second place. Other finishes for the Lions on the opening day of competition were a third place result for Shane Whicker in the 50 Yard Butterfly (24.80) and a third place finish for Rothschild in the 100 Yard Individual Medley. The 100 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Trey Mason, Justin Gale, Whicker and Ryan Martin finished in third place.
The Sewanee Invitational is scheduled to continue tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
