Four Lions Receive Honors From Appalachian Swimming Conference
Ludovico Corsini was named to the All-Conference team while Kendall Corbett, Brian Davis and David Hallberg earned honorable mention All-Conference distinction.
SOUTH ECLID, OHIO- The Mars Hill men's swimming team had four student-athletes receive honors from the Appalachian Swimming Conference. Ludovico Corsini was named to the All-Conference team while Kendall Corbett, Brian Davis and David Hallberg earned honorable mention All-Conference distinction.
Corsini set the school record in the 100 Breaststroke at the Royal Invite last week with a time of 56.07 seconds. At the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet, Corsini finished in second place in the 100 Breaststroke with a then-school record time of 56.58. During the course of the 2014-15 season, he cut over half a second off of his 100 Breaststroke time, as his season-opening time of 56.79 seconds at the North Carolina Invitational in October was also a school record at the time. Corsini was named the ASC Men's Swimmer of the Week on October 9.
Corbett finished in sixth place in the 100 Backstroke in 54.16 seconds and 10th in the 200 Backstroke (2:00.52) at the ASC championship meet. He was also part of the 400 Medley Relay team that finished in sixth place (3:28.61).
Davis finished in sixth place in the 100 Breaststroke at the ASC championship meet in 58.04. He also finished in sixth in the 200 Breaststroke (2:08.60).
Hallberg set a new school record time of 4:45.14 in the 500 Freestyle at the ASC championship meet. He finished in fifth place in the 1650 Freestyle at the ASC championship meet with a time of 4:45.14, seventh in the 100 Butterfly (52.60) and was part of a new school record in the 800 Freestyle Relay.
