Men's Swimming Announces 2015 Recruiting Class

Head coach Teddy Guyer has signed eight student-athletes for the 2015-16 season.
Jake Moore is from Inman, South Carolina where he attended Boiling Springs High School and swam under the direction of Bryan and Terry Fore. He also swam for Y-Spartaquatics, in Spartanburg coached by Ted Pierson and Bart Simonson. Jake is a two-year varsity letterman and finished eleventh in the 200 free during states, a two-year club SC short course State meet qualifier. He is also a prudential scholarship finalist and an honor roll member. Jake is the son of Robert and Tracey Moore.
Michael Hill is from Gilbert, Arizona where we attended Gilbert High School. There he swam under the direction of Brendan Keyes and also swam for Arizona Gold for coach Jerry Olzewski and he swam for Mesa Aquatics Club under the direction of Jonathan Shaw. Michael was an Arizona State Qualifier and a Speedo Southwestern Sectional Championship qualifier. Michael is a high school state finalist in the 500 free and on the honor roll. Michael is the son of Steve and Kimberly Hill.
Elijah Sears is from Charlotte, North Carolina where he attended Hickory Grove Christian School. Elijah swam under the direction of Audrey McFarland and also under Shaynah Jerrel with the (ATOM) Aquatic Team in Mecklenburg. He qualified for YMCA Nationals and participated yearly in the NC high school regional and state meets. Elijah is the son of Kimberly and Steve Sears.
Grant Greenhill is from Kingsport, Tennessee where he attended Dobyns-Bennett High School. Grant swam under the direction of Nathan Love and also swam for the Kingsport Piranhas club team under coach, Jorge Blasini. Grant was a state qualifier, and finished tenth in the Tennessee state meet in the 100 backstroke, he also holds the records for the 100 yard and meter backstroke for Dobyns-Bennett. Grant is the son of Gary and Kerri Greenhill.
Harrison Butler attended Sanderson High School, where he swam under Coach Mumma. Harrison swam year around for (YOTA) YMCA of the Triangle Aquatics under the direction of Coach Kale Stevens. He was a 4A state qualifier for three of his four years and currently holds the backstroke record at Sanderson High School. Harrison qualified for and attended both long and short course YMCA Nationals. Harrison is the son of David Butler and Dara Hall Butler.
Matthew Walker is from Lakeland, Florida where he attended George Jenkins High School and swam under the direction of Jennifer Gosline. His club team is Lakeland Area Swimming coached by Michael Blum and Duncan Sherrard. Matthew has maintained a 4.0+ for all academic years as well as being on the FHSAA student athletic advisory committee. Matthew is the son of Kim Nance and Garrett Walker.
Vitor Goncalves is from San Paulo, Brazil where he attended Visconde de Porto Seguro School in San Paulo City. Victor swam at Esporte Clube Pinheiros (Pine trees Sports Club) under the direction of Coach Tiago. Vitor was a national finalist at the Brazilian National Championship where he finished third at the San Paulo state meet and was second at regionals. Victor is a merit scholar athlete and is the son of Maria Isabel Gasper Penteado and Jose Vicente Goncalves.
Michael Piumelli is from Altamonte Springs, Florida where he attended Lyman High School. Michael swam under the direction of Al Forbes and also swam for Patriot Aquatics Club Team under coach, Clay Parnell. Michael was a regional qualifier and finished 11th in the region for the 100 yard breaststroke. Michael is the son of Katy Piumelli and Mike Piumelli.
