Three New Records Set by Men's Swimming At ASC Meet
The Mars Hill men’s swimming team set three new records while swimming to a fifth place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet last weekend.
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's swimming team set three new records while swimming to a fifth place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet last weekend in Christiansburg, Va.
The 800 Freestyle Relay team of David Hallberg, Justin Gale, Ryan Martin and Trey Mason set a new record with a time of 7:05.76, breaking the previous mark of 7:06.66 which was set at the Fall Frenzy meet on November 22, 2014.
Hallberg lowered his school record in the 500 Freestyle to 4:45.14 on Thursday. He previously set the school-best mark of 4:45.49 at the Fall Frenzy meet on November 21, 2014.
Ludovico Corsini continued his strong season in the 100 Breaststroke, lowering his previous school record with a new mark of 56.58 seconds as he finished in second place. Like Hallberg, Corsini set his previous record of 56.74 seconds at the Fall Frenzy meet in November, 2014.
Mars Hill will compete at the Royal Invite hosted by Queens University in Charlotte on Friday and Saturday.
