Davis' 18 leads Lions to first SAC win of season

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-11, 1-6 SAC) defeated Limestone (6-9, 2-5 SAC) by a score of 64-47 Saturday afternoon on the road.
Mars Hill led after 20 minutes of play, 24-20. Kory Davis led the Lions with seven points while Dominic Strother added six in the first half. Rajuan Conner led all players with seven rebounds while Isaiah Jones collected six. Limestone was led by Ben Gahlert's eight points and Isayah Owens' five.
The Lions' offense exploded in the second half, outscoring Limestone 40-27 en route to their first South Atlantic Conference win of the year. Mars Hill connected on 45 percent of their shots and went 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. Davis led all players with 11 points followed by Jackson Reid's eight.
Jones led the Mars Hill defense with three steals as the team forced 10 Saints' second half turnovers.
Davis led all players with 18 points followed by 12 from Strother. Conner led all players with 10 rebounds and added seven points on the day.
Mars Hill returns home on Wednesday, January 18 when they face Lincoln Memorial inside Chambers Gymnasium. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
