Davis named SAC Freshman of the Year
Mars Hill freshman guard Kory Davis was named the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, as announced by the league Thursday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill freshman guard Kory Davis was named the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, as announced by the league Thursday morning.
Davis was also selected to the All-Freshman team and was an All-SAC Third Team selection. This marks the second year in a row that a Mars Hill men's basketball player was named Freshman of the Year (Kaydn Dawkins - 2022).
Davis, a native of Gastonia, N.C., had an outstanding start to his collegiate career. He averaged 15.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season. He is ranked fourth in the league in scoring and is in the top-10 in steals. He scored in double figures 22 times, including a career-high 28 points against Newberry on Feb. 11.
