GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (4-7, 0-6 SAC) was defeated by No. 4 Limestone (9-1, 4-1 SAC) by a score of 25-8 Wednesday night on the road.
The Saints used a 10-goal second quarter to runaway with the contest with 10 different goal scorers. Brandon Woodward, in the first quarter, recorded one goal and one assist. He netted his second in the second quarter, the lone Mars Hill tally.
Zac Carrigan recorded all five of his points (3g, 2a) in the second half of play, picking up two goals in the third and striking once while adding two assists in the fourth. Trevor Kennedy scored twice in the fourth quarter.
Mike McGarry and Carrigan led their respective teams with five points (3g, 2a). William Baxter made five saves in 30 minutes of play for his ninth win of the season. Alex Oleschuk stopped 15 in his first career start.
The Lions host Coker inside Meares Stadium on Saturday, April 2. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
