MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (4-11, 0-10 SAC) was defeated 26-4 versus No. 9 Lenoir-Rhyne (12-3, 9-1 SAC) Saturday afternoon inside Meares Stadium.
The Bears opened the scoring, netting the first six goals of contest with six different goal scorers. Zac Carrigan scored the first two Lions' goals in the final five minutes of the first, pushing his season total to 55.
Lenoir-Rhyne held Mars Hill scoreless in the second as Toron Eccleston potted two goals in the frame. They would go on to outscore the Lions 15-2 in the second half of play.
Mars Hill's two tallies came from the sticks of Brandon Woodward and Trevor Kennedy. George Yanssens picked up the assist on Kennedy's goal.
Kyle Hatcher (2g, 3a) and Colby Lensing (3g, 2a) led all players with five points.
Prior to the start of the game, senior Frankie Villeneuve and Zac Carrigan were recognized for their contributions to the men's lacrosse program as part of the Senior Day celebration.
