Phyall Wins CNU Heptathlon
Senior Isaac Phyall set a new scored record in winning the heptathlon at the CNU Pentathlon/Heptathlon
NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Senior Isaac Phyall set a new scored record in winning the heptathlon at the CNU Pentathlon/Heptathlon held on the campus of Christopher Newport University.
Phyall finished with 4283 points, nearly 200 points higher than the second place finisher and 285 points higher than the previous school record. He reached a new personal best in the pole vault, clearing 3.22 meters (10' 6''). This mark is 15 inches higher than his previous best. Phyall also cleared a new personal best in the high jump with a height of 1.81 meters (5'11'').
In his first heptathlon, Marcus Foster finished seven points shy of the previous school record and earned a fifth place finish. Foster set a new personal best in the high jump as he also cleared 1.81 meters.
The CNU Pentathlon/Heptathlon concludes the indoor season for Mars Hill. The Lions open the outdoor season on March 14 at the Brevard Invitational.
