Women’s Soccer Blitzes Coker, 8-1
Reasoner, Martin Each Post Hat Tricks
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Miranda Reasoner and Abby Martin each posted the first hat trick of their careers as the Mars Hill women's soccer team blitzed Coker 8-1. The Lions improve to 3-1. The Cobras drop to 0-5.
Along with the combined six goal outpouring from Reasoner, who hails from Denver, N.C., and Martin, from Greer, S.C., the Lions had goals from Caity Murnahan (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Jamila Walker (Somerset, N.J.) , with three assists from Salem Woody (Apex, N.C.) and three assists from Artivia Martin (Greensboro, N.C.). Nikki Peet (Seffner, Fla.) also had an assist for the Mars Hill. Coker's goal came from Emily Marrow (Columbia, S.C.) off a free kick from 25 yards out.
Mars Hill goalkeepers Kristin Westerhorstmann (Cary, N.C.) and Corrine Roberts (Fredericka, Del.) combined for the one goal victory. Coker's Carrie Hudnell (Goose Creek, S.C.) recorded three saves in the match.
Mars Hill will travel to Wingate Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
