Mars Hill shutout on road against Lander

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-1) fell to Lander on the road by a score of 3-0 Saturday evening.
The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead into the half with a goal scored from Brianna Taylor in the 21st minute. They would later extend their lead 15 minutes into the second half as Taylor assisted on the Juliette Vidal.
Lander added another insurance marker with under seven minutes remaining. Emily Jermstad scored her first of the season.
The Bearcats dominated the play, outshooting the Lions 19-1 over 90 minutes. Of the six shots that made their way on target, the Lions' tandem of Clare Witt and Tonje Jorgensen made three saves.
Mars Hill returns to action on Tuesday, September 4th when they face Erskine on the road at 5 p.m.
