Lions Defeat Warren Wilson and Lenoir-Rhyne
SWANNANOA, N.C.-- The Mars Hill women's swimming team defeated Warren Wilson 102-11 and Lenoir-Rhyne 70-43 in a tri-meet at Warren Wilson College Friday evening.
The 200 Medley Relay Team, consisting of Miranda Schmidt, Megan Bartlett, Rachel Louviaux and Maggie Mills placed first in the event with a time of 1:59.30. Also taking first in was the 200 Freestyle Relay Team, which was made up of Nicole Day, Taylor Bugg, Louviaux and Mills.
Day added first-place finishes in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Back, and placed second in the 200 Free.
Mills won both the 50 and 100 Free, narrowly edging teammate Louviaux by 0.86 seconds to win the 50 Free. Louviaux won the 50 Butterfly, swimming a time of 28.83.
Schmidt and Lauren Davis also each turned in first place finishes in the 50 Back and 100 Breaststroke respectively. Davis also placed second in the 50 Breaststroke. Rounding out the Lions' top performers was Elle Grier with a second-place finish in the 200 IM.
