Lions Swim to Two Big Wins
MILLIGAN, TENN.-- The Mars Hill women's swimming team earned a pair of Appalachian Swim Conference victories over Milligan and West Virginia Tech at Milligan College Saturday afternoon.
The Lions defeated West Virginia Tech 78-9 and Milligan 70-25. MHC was paced by victories by the 200 Medley Relay team and 200 Free Relay Team. The 200 Medley team was made up of Nicole Day, Megan Bartlett, Rachel Louviaux and Maggie Mills, while the 200 Free team was made up Miranda Schmidt, Louviaux, Elle Grier and Taylor Bugg. Mars Hill is now 10-1 overall on the season.

Day added victories in the 200 and 400 Free. Her winning time in the 200 Free was 2:19.88, while her 4:53.42 was ten seconds better than the second-place finisher.
Bugg continued Mars Hill's success in Free events with wins in the 50 and 100 Free. Bugg won the 50 Free by .01 seconds. while her winning time in the 100 Free was 1:03.50.
Schmidt added wins in the 200 IM with a time of 2:42.84, and in the 200 Back with a time of 2:41.60. Grier won the 1500 Free with a time of 19:53.08, while Barlett picked up a first-place finish in the 200 Breast with a time of 3:00.52.
Mars Hill will swim in the Appalachian Swim Conference Championships, which begin Feb. 14 in Barbourville, Ky.
