Lions in Fifth at Conference Championship
BARBOURVILLE, KY.- After day two of the Appalachian Swim Conference Championship Meet, the Mars Hill women's swimming team is in fifth place.
BARBOURVILLE, KY.- After day two of the Appalachian Swim Conference Championship Meet, the Mars Hill women's swimming team is in fifth place.
The Lions have accumulated 213 points thus far in the meet. Mars Hill got second- place finishes from the 200 Free Relay team and Nicole Day in the 200 Back to pace their performances in day two of the meet. Wheeling Jesuit leads overall with 333 points, followed by Notre Dame (Ohio) (297), Asbury (249) and Brenau (233).
The 200 Free Relay team placed second with a time of 1:40.60, which was 1.3 seconds behind the first-place team from Notre Dame (Ohio). The team was made up of Day, Rachel Louviaux, Taylor Bugg and Maggie Mills.
Day's second-place time in the 200 Back was 2:07.05.
Mills and Bugg continued their success from the 200 Free Relay with strong performances in the 100 Free. Mills placed fourth with a time of 54.68, while Bugg placed seventh at 55.56.
The 800 Free Relay team placed fifth with a time of 8:07.08. The team was made up of Day, Emma Duffy, Elle Grier and Bugg. Grier added a ninth-place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 5:28.38.
Competition for the Appalachian Swim Conference Championship concludes today. Preliminary swims were due to begin at 9:30 a.m., with finals taking place at 6:00 p.m. Live streaming of finals events can be found at the link below.
