Women's Cross Country Ranked Eighth in Southeast Region
The Mars Hill women’s cross country team has returned to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Regional Rankings for the first time in nearly two years, checking in at eighth place in the latest rankings announced on Tuesday.
NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Mars Hill women's cross country team has returned to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Regional Rankings for the first time in nearly two years, checking in at eighth place in the latest rankings announced on Tuesday.
Last week, the women's team finished in third place at the Charlotte Invitational, the highest finishing South Atlantic Conference and Southeast Region team. Senior Jessica Viscusi was the runner-up in the non-Division I portion with a time of 22:27.6 and the team set the school record for average team time with a mark of 24:01. Prior to the latest rankings, the Lions were last ranked in tenth place on October 23, 2012.
Mars Hill returns to the course next Saturday at the Royals XC Challenge
