Lions Climb Four Spots in Latest USTFCCCA Rankings
The Mars Hill women’s cross country team jumped four spots in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, climbing from seventh to third place.
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Mars Hill women's cross country team jumped four spots in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II regional rankings, released earlier today.
The Lions moved from seventh place to third place following their third place finish at the Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Ala. this past weekend. The Falcon Classic was contested on the same course that will host the NCAA Southeast Regional meet on November 22.
Montevallo is in first place, followed by South Atlantic Conference foe Wingate, with the Lions in third. North Georgia and King complete the top five. The top three schools at the regional meet qualify for the NCAA National Championship meet on December 6 in Louisville, Ky.
Mars Hill returns to action this weekend in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.
