Men's Track Completes Day One of Buccaneer Invitational
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Mars Hill men’s track and field team completed the first day of the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University on Friday, February 05.
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's track and field team completed the first day of the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University on Friday, February 05. Coaches were very impressed with the performances of the runners against stiff Division I competition.
"We had an excellent day at ETSU", said Coach Bradley Nagel. "We were very excited with today's performances and expect the same results tomorrow as we finish the two day meet", he added.
Sophomore Marlon Allen was able to establish two new personal bests on the afternoon, eclipsing his 400m mark with a time of 51.36 as well as the 200 with a time of 22.76
Sophomore Brandon Beard continues his stellar season as he broke another personal record in the 5,000 meter race with a time of 16:21.
The Lions will return to the track tomorrow to complete the two-day event.
