Mars Hill named SAC Team of the Week
The Lions have won five of their last eight games.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team was named the South Atlantic Conference Team of the Week, as announced by the league Thursday.
This marks the third time in the last three years that the team has been recognized as the Team of the Week.
The Lions are on a three-game win streak, highlighted by their 58-56 win over Wingate, who was atop the SAC. Their eight SAC wins are the most in nearly 10 years (2015-16).
The Lions are led by the scoring of Aaliyah El, averaging over 17 points a game, good for third in the league. Defensively, Tateyoina Harris leads the Lions with 8.4 rebounds per game, good for fifth in the league.
Mars Hill is currently fourth in the league and take on Newberry on Saturday, January 18 at 2 p.m. on the road.
