MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – Mars Hill's women's soccer team beat Milligan on the road Wednesday night, 2-0. The Lions improved to 4-10-2 on the season while the Buffalos fell to 5-10-1 on the year.
Leah Taylor recorded the match winner at the 30:23 mark on a free kick. The goal was assisted by Haley Peterson.
Catherine Watkins-Banks added an insurance goal in the 42nd minute scoring on a through ball. The score was assisted by Danielle Franco.
Mars Hill edged the Buffalos in shots, 13-12 and corner kicks, 2-1. Mars Hill received the only offsides call in the match. Maslyn Greene played all 60 minutes in goal for MHU and made three saves. Charlotte Stephens also played the entire match in goal for Milligan and made the same number of saves.
The Lions will play at SAC foe Catawba College on Saturday, November 2. Match time is slated for 5 p.m.
