The Mars Hill Lions women's soccer team was shutout on the road, 2-0, against the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday night. Kaitlyn Danglemaier made 13 saves in the losing effort.

HICKORY, N.C. - The Mars Hill Lions women's soccer team was shutout on the road, 2-0, against the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday night. Kaitlyn Danglemaier made 13 saves in the losing effort.
The Bears' two first-half goals provided enough offense to pick up their sixth win of the season.
Abbie Brown scored her fourth goal of the season just over 16 minutes into the game. Brown's goal beat Danglemaier inside the top right corner. The strike proved to be the game-winner.
The Bears extended their lead in the 34' minute with a goal from Stephanie Figueiredo. Her second goal of the year was taken from outside the box and found its way into the top left corner of the net.
Alayna Morris had three saves on the night.
Alyssa Deno led the Lions with two shots on goal.
Mars Hill falls to 2-6-1 (1-4 SAC) as the Bears improve to 6-3-1 (2-2-1 SAC).
The Lions will take to the road on Saturday, October 7 when they head east to face Queens. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
