Lions held scoreless for fourth straight

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill Lions women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 against Tusculum Friday evening at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
After a scoreless, closely contested first half, the Lions allowed three goals on nine shots. They were outshot in the contest 16-5 and shutout for the fourth straight game.
Brooke Radcliffe opened the scoring for the Pioneers, elevating the ball over the head of Lions' goalkeeper Kaitlyn Danglemaier less than four minutes into the half.
In the 67' minute, Carly Mill scored her second of the season, heading the ball into the net off of a corner kick from Nicole McMillen. Just over 12 minutes later, a mirror image goal was scored by Sonja Ballmert. It was her fourth of the season.
The Lions fall to 2-9-1 (1-6 SAC). Tusculum advances to 9-3 (6-1 SAC).
Mars Hill hits the road Wednesday, October 18, traveling to Harrogate, Tennessee to face Lincoln Memorial. The contest is slated to start at 1 p.m.
