Mars Hill snaps six-game losing streak with 1-0 shutout over Barton
The Mars Hill women's soccer team snapped a six-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Barton College at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium Wednesday evening. Julia Johnson's first half strike proved to be the game-winning goal.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team snapped a six-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Barton College at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium Wednesday evening. Julia Johnson's first half strike proved to be the game-winning goal.
Johnson scored her first of the season in the 32' minute. Taking a pass from Leah Hairfield, Johnson pushed her way through the defense and put a low shot on goal past the sprawling Haley Sauls.
The Lions outshot the Bulldogs 7-0 in the first 45 minutes.
Mars Hill would continue to dominate play, further outshooting Barton 11-3 in the second half. Kaitlyn Danglemaier made one save for her fourth shutout of the season.
Mars Hill improves to 3-11-1 on the season while Barton falls to 7-7-3.
The Lions wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 28 at 1 p.m. They will host Anderson and honor six seniors for Senior Day.
