Lions strike twice in second half, fall to Trojans on road

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-3-1, 0-1-1 SAC) fell to Anderson (4-1-0, 1-1-0 SAC) by a score of 4-2 Friday evening on the road.
Anderson tallied three goals in the first half with Camryn Woods scoring her first of two on the night in the 10th minute. Carly Keuffer was credited with the assist. With seven minutes to play in the half, Woods and Keuffer connected again to put Anderson up 2-0. Kaitlyn Gregory was credited with the first assist on the goal.
Gregory gathered her second assist on the Trojans' third goal of the half with 3:19 left to play as Catherine Nardella netted her fifth of the season.
Less than a minute into the second half, Leanna Guion put Anderson up by four.
Mars Hill broke the shutout bid in the 72nd minute as Samantha Swinson scored her first of the season. Saga Karlsson Rowa assisted on the goal, marking her first collegiate point of her career. In the 86th minute, Carla Humera tallied her second goal of the year.
Anderson outshot Mars Hill 15-8 as Woods and Guion led all players with three shots. Swinson led the Lions with three shots, two on target.
Macy McDufford made one stop for the win. Camryn Miller made three saves in just under 72 minutes played. Hanna Johnson closed out the match with just over 18 minutes played.
The Lions return to the pitch on Tuesday, September 24 when they face Converse in non-conference action. Kickoff on the road is set for 6 p.m.
