MARS HILL, N.C - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-9-1, 0-6-1 SAC) was felled by Emory & Henry (6-6-1, 3-5-0 SAC) by a score of 3-0 Wednesday evening.

Emory & Henry opened the scoring early in the match, with Charlotte Stavis finding the net in the seventh minute, assisted by Hana Kirsch. Olivia Haynes extended their lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute. Stavis struck again just before halftime, scoring her second goal in the 40th minute off an assist from Lucy Dunlop.

Mars Hill generated 10 shots in the second half compared to Emory & Henry's eight. Carla Humera and Mia Calderon made significant attempts, but Emory & Henry's goalkeeper, Sophia Wagner, was up to the task with eight saves. Humera led the Lions with four shots followed by three from Calderon whel Samantha Swinson and Ella Parton each added two apiece. Defensively, Camryn Miller stood out for Mars Hill, recording eight saves herself.

The Lions prepare for their next match against Catawba on Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. on the road.
