MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lions lost to Lenoir-Rhyne 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday night in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Mars Hill fell to 0-11 overall and 0-6 in the league. The Bears improved to 7-3-1 on the season, 5-1 in the SAC.
Emmi Dunn scored the Bears' first goal of the match at 17:03 mark off a header from a corner kick. The ball was sent in by Jessica Tooley. That was all the scoring the first half would see.
Garcelle Alequine added the second and final goal finding the back of the net on an unassisted goal from 20 yards out.
Maslyn Greene played all 90 minutes in goal and made 14 saves. Alayna Morris also played the entire match in the net for the Bears and made two saves.
Mars Hill will play at Coker on Saturday. Match time is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
