Mars Hill wraps up three-game road trip against Pioneers

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-4-1, 0-2 SAC) fell to Tusculum (1-5-0, 1-1 SAC) by a score of 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
Following a scoreless first half that saw each team attempt six shots apiece, Tusculum broke through and took the 1-0 advantage in the 59th minute. On a corner attempt, the ball ricocheted off a Lion defender and rolled across the goal line.
Just under 10 minutes later, Bailey Bylotas netted her first goal of the season, putting the Pioneers up by two.
Bylotas, Kaitlyn Watson, and Kenzie Ellenburg each attempted three shots, leading Tusculum on the day.
Sanne Martinsen led all players with four shot attempts and three on-goal. Carla Humera attempted two in the contest.
Emma Harriman made five saves for the shutout win. Camryn Miller made eight saves for the Lions.
Mars Hill returns to Meares Stadium on Wednesday, September 22 when they host Emory & Henry. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
