Rankin named SAC Defensive Player of the Week
Mars Hill sophomore defensive back Tristan Rankin was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as released by the league Monday afternoon.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill sophomore defensive back Tristan Rankin was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as released by the league Monday afternoon.
Rankin, a native of Hickory, N.C., tied a Mars Hill record with three interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown in the Lions' 32-3 win over Limestone. In addition to his three interceptions, Rankin added five tackles and one pass breakup.
Rankin currently leads the Lions with four interceptions on the year and sits second in the SAC.
