DUE WEST, S.C. – The Mars Hill men's basketball team (1-3) was felled by Erskine (1-2) by a score of 67-66.
The Flying Fleet outscored the Lions 38-32, hitting 48 percent of their shots. Moses Cheek led the team with 15 points in the half followed by eight from Christian Monroe. Kadyn Dawkins netted 14 points for Mars Hill while Rajuan Conner added 10 points and six rebounds.
The Lions carried a 35-29 lead into the half, shooting 43 percent from the floor. The Lions hit five three-pointers in the half. Dawkins led all players with 11 points followed by six from Conner. Conner led the Lions with six rebounds in the half.
Dawkins led all players with 25 points, hitting six three-pointers on the day. Conner ended the contest with a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Mars Hill returns to the floor on Monday, November 20 when they face North Greenville. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
