TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (1-4) was defeated by North Greenville (2-2) by a score of 75-63 Monday evening on the road.
The Crusaders led 30-29 at the end of the first half of play. Max Topham led the team with 11 points followed by six points apiece from Babtunde Ajike and Justin Perry. Rajuan Conner led all players with 13 points and six rebounds. Kadyn Dawkins added seven followed by six from Ji'lil Michael.
North Greenville shot over 55 percent from the floor in the second half, outscoring Mars Hill 45-34. Topham led all players with 12 points while Ajike led the team with five rebounds. Dawkins led the Lions with 12 points followed by seven from Marcus Rodgers off the bench.
Topham led all players with 23 points. Dawkins led the Lions with 19 points while Conner added 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Mars Hill returns to the floor on Saturday, December 2 when they face Young Harris in their first home game of the 2023-24 season. Tipoff inside Chambers Gymnasium is set for 4 p.m.
