Dawkins sets career-high in comeback win over EHC

EMORY, Va. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (3-21, 2-15 SAC) pulled off the comeback win against Emory & Henry (5-20, 2-15 SAC), taking the road contest by a score of 82-79 Wednesday night.
Kadyn Dawkins' 23 second half points was the catalyst in the comeback bid. Dawkins went 7-of-14 from the floor, hitting 5-of-7 threes attempted. Caleb Mauldin added 12 points and led all players with six rebounds in the frame. Kory Davis led the Lions with three assists while adding 10 points.
Jacob Dar led the Wasps with 15 points in the second half followed by 11 from Jalen Leftwich.
Emory & Henry shot nearly 50 percent from the floor in the first half with Gabe Brown's 13 points pacing their offense. The Wasps led by nine, 39-30, at the end of the half.
Dawkins led Mars Hill with 11 points while Davis added eight.
Four Wasps' starters finished with double-digit points, led by Dar's 22. Marshall Klug scored 14 and led all players with 10 rebounds for the double-double.
Dawkins led all players with a career-high 34 points and four steals. Davis netted 18 followed by Mauldin's 14. Mauldin led the team with eight rebounds.
The Lions wrap up their home slate on Saturday, February 24 when they host Catawba on Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. inside Chambers Gymnasium.
