Lions downed by Anderson on road

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (3-23, 2-17 SAC) was defeated by Anderson (15-12, 10-9 SAC0 by a score of 87-65 Wednesday night on the road.
Anderson netted 43 points in the first half as Luke Denbow led all players with 15 points, going 6-of-7 from the floor, hitting three three-pointers. Dallas Jones added seven. The Trojans shot over 50 percent from the floor.
Kory Davis paced the Lions' offense with 12 points. Marcus Rodgers led the team with four rebounds.
The Trojans continued their fine shooting, hitting 53 percent of their shots in the second half as Garrett Denbow went 7-of-9, hitting four threes for 23 points in the half. Austin Webb added seven.
Kadyn Dawkins led Mars Hill with 13 points while Rodgers added nine and pulled down seven rebounds to lead all players in the half.
Garrett Denbow led all players with 30 points while Luke Denbow netted 17 on the night.
Both Davis and Dawkins ended the night with 18 points. Rodgers collected the double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Mars Hill wraps up the 2023-24 season on the road when they face Carson-Newman on Saturday, March 2. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
