Lions finish season on road versus C-N

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (3-24, 2-18 SAC) wrapped up their 2023-24 season on the road versus Carson-Newman (21-7, 14-6 SAC), falling by a score of 109-99 Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles hit 10 threes in the first half while shooting 68 percent from the floor. The Eagles led 60-35 after the first 20 minutes. John Zhao led all players with 15 points while Jack Browder added 14. Browder also led all players with six rebounds while Trey Hubbard collected five assists.
Kadyn Dawkins led the Lions with 10 points while Caleb Mauldin added eight. Derrick Molden Jr. led the team with three assists.
In a role reversal of the second, Mars Hill outscored Carson-Newman 64-49. Kendall Davis led all players with 17 points in the half followed by Kory Davis' 14. Molden Jr. added 13, going 5-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Zhao once again scored 15 for the Eagles as Browder netted 13.
Zhao led all players with 30 points while Browder scored 27 and pulled down 12 rebounds for the double-double.
Six Lions' ended the contest in double-figures as Kendall Davis' 19 led the team. Dawkins and Kory Davis scored 18 apiece followed by 13 from Molden Jr., 12 from Xavier Meekins, and 11 from Mauldin. Dawkins led the team with five rebounds and five assists.
