Cudmore Makes Charlotte Hounds Roster
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Mars Hill alum Chris Cudmore has made the 25-man active roster of the Major League Lacrosse's Charlotte Hounds organization.
Cudmore could debut when the Hounds open their season this Saturday, Apr. 27 against the Denver Outlaws. While MLL organizations are allowed a 25-man active roster, the teams are only allowed to dress 19 players on game day. Cudmore was a three-time All-American while at Mars Hill. He is listed as one of seven defenders on Charlotte's active roster.
Over the course of his collegiate career, Cudmore started a program-best 51 games and caused 114 turnovers- the most in school-history. Cudmore notched 228 ground balls in his MHC career and added nine goals and 22 assists.
Cudmore was named to the Hounds' active roster after signing as a free agent out of the MLL Player Pool. He was previously a fifth-round pick of the National Lacrosse League's Minnesota Storm and has competed internationally with the Canadian National Lacrosse Team.
The Hounds season-opener against the Outlaws is Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN3.com and will be carried locally in the Charlotte area on WMYT-myTV12. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking HERE or by calling 704-206-1515.
The Hounds placed sixth in the MLL last season with a 5-9 overall record. This season will also feature a 14-game regular-season schedule, with the top four teams in the league making the playoffs.
The MLL is comprised of eight organizations across the US and
Canada- the Boston Cannons, Charlotte Hounds, Chesapeake Bayhawks,
Denver Outlaws, Hamilton Nationals, New York Lizards, Ohio Machine
and Rochester Rattlers. The league was founded in 2001.
