Lions Honor Seniors in Split With King, Emory & Henry
Mars Hill defeated King 146-56 but lost to NCAA Division III member Emory & Henry 193-60.
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team honored seniors Emma Duffy, Rachel Louviaux and Maggie Mills during a tri-meet against King University and Emory & Henry on Saturday in Harrell Pool. Mars Hill defeated King 146-56 but lost to NCAA Division III member Emory & Henry 193-60.
The three seniors along with Abby Harty teamed up for a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.41. Louviaux and Mills along with Elle Grier and Maggie Norton finished second in the 400 Freestyle Relay in 3:55.26. Duffy recorded a third place finish in the 1000 Yard Freestyle (11:31.69) and fourth in the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:27.31) as well as the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:41.10). Mills finished in fourth place in the 50 Yard Freestyle (26.08) as well as in the 100 Yard Freestyle (58.52). Louviaux finished in fifth in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:07.63) and fourth 100 Yard Butterfly (1:09.39).
Grier won the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:17.53 and was the runner-up in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:32.93). Harty finished in second place in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:36.16. Harty was also second in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:19.76. Norton finished in third place in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:06.39).
Mars Hill will compete in the Appalachian Swimming Conference meet on February 12-14.
