Lions felled by No. 1 NGU
The Mars Hill baseball team (7-23) fell to No. 1 North Greenville (26-2) by a score of 13-4 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (7-23) fell to No. 1 North Greenville (26-2) by a score of 13-4 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play.
North Greenville led 6-0 after four innings of play. In the bottom of the fifth, Trevor Bailey broke the shutout bid with a two-run home run to center, plating Chad Sikes.
The Crusaders plated two runs in the sixth and extended the lead to 13-2 after scoring five runs in the top of the seventh. In the bottom half of the frame, Dawson Connell's two-run double pulled Mars Hill within nine, scoring Jordan Lathe and Silas Isenhour.
The duo of Connell and Chapel Matson led the Lions with two hits apiece while Connell and Bailey led the Lions with two RBI.
Mars Hill returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Friday, March 24 when they take on Lenoir-Rhyne. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. on the road.
