Mars Hill downed by Emmanuel
The Mars Hill baseball team (7-27) was defeated 10-1 by Emmanuel (18-13) Tuesday afternoon.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (7-27) was defeated 10-1 by Emmanuel (18-13) Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with Jordan Lathe scoring off of a throwing error by Emmanuel.
After two scoreless innings, Emmanuel tied the game in the top of the fourth off of Zachary Bergstrom's RBI double. He later later scored to give Emmanuel the lead off of a Mars Hill error.
In the top of the fifth, Emmanuel plated four runs, highlighted by Brody Campbell's two-run home run to right field. After extending their lead to 7-1 in the sixth, Emmanuel plated two more in the seventh and closed out their scoring in the top of the eighth.
Braeden Eavenson led all players with three hits followed by two apiece from Campbell and Nick Dietsch. The trio of Alex Naran, Silas Isenhour, and Luke Hayes recorded two hits apiece.
Ryan Smith earned the win, throwing 6.2 innings, allowing six hits.
Mars Hill returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday, March 31 when they host Limestone. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
