Men's Golf Finishes Tusculum Fall Classic In Second Place
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Mars Hill men’s golf team used a magnificent final round to catapult into a second-place finish following the closing round of the Tusculum Fall Classic.
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's golf team used a magnificent final round to catapult into a second-place finish following the closing round of the Tusculum Fall Classic. The Lions started the day in sixth, but used key rounds to finish as the runner-up.
Senior Adam Lumley earned his third consecutive All-Tournament nod after firing a three-under 139 during the 36-hole event. Lumley's score was tied for the best over the two days, but Garrett Tucker of Lincoln Memorial earned the first-place finish after defeating Lumley and Tusculum's Cameron Dugger on a scorecard playoff hole.
Harry Butler and Luke Challis posted three-over 145 to finish in a tie for 19th, while Dalton Thompson (+6) and Callum Ritchie (+11) ended the tournament in a tie for 27th and 37th, respectively.
Tusculum took the team award, finishing 12 strokes ahead of the Lions. The Lions will return to the links on October 9-11 as they take part in the Lincoln Memorial Fall Inivitational at Woodlake Country Club in Tazewell, Tenn.
