Lumley Earns All Tournament as Lions Conclude Tusculum Invitational In Eighth Place
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Mars Hill men’s golf team concluded the Tusculum Invitational with an 8th-place finish on Sunday afternoon at the Link Hills Golf and Country Club.
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's golf team concluded the Tusculum Invitational with an 8th-place finish on Sunday afternoon at the Link Hills Golf and Country Club. After firing a round one score of 296 (+12) the Lions lost seven strokes in their day two total, finishing the second 18 with a total team score of 303 (+19).
Host Tusculum took home the team honors with a two-day total of 569 (+1), while SAC member Brevard tallied a second place finish with a total of 573 (+5). Northwestern Ohio (581, +13), Tennessee Wesleyan (585, +17), and Spartanburg Methodist College (586, +18) rounded out the top-5, respectively.
Senior Adam Lumley cashed in another All-Tournament team after finishing tied for first with a 36-hole total of 138 (-4). Lumley picked up four strokes off his day one 71, shooting a 4-under 67 to tie with Brevard's Luis Vega. Vega won the overall crown after defeating Lumley on a scorecard playoff.
Callum Ritchie (150, +8) finished in a tie for 32nd, while Harry Butler (154, +12) ended the tournament in a tie for 53rd. Francesc Llinas (158, +16) and Stephen Thomasson (161, +19) concluded the 36-hole tournament in a tie for 64th and 74th, respectively.
The All-Tournament team consisted of Lumley, Vega, David Whinery (Tusculum), Lewis Scott (NW Ohio), and Evan Ball (Tennessee Wesleyan).
The Lions will return to the links on April 3-4 as they participate in the LMU Red River Rumble Intercollegiate at the Tennessee National Golf Club.
