Men's Soccer Beats Coker in Overtime
Mars Hill defeated SAC foe Coker College 3-2 Saturday night in men’s soccer play in overtime at the Coker Soccer Complex.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Mars Hill defeated SAC foe Coker College 3-2 Saturday night in men's soccer play in overtime at the Coker Soccer Complex. The Lions improved to an even 5-5 overall and 5-2 in the South Atlantic Conference. The Cobras fell to 2-5-4 on the season and 2-3-2 in the conference.
Brayhan Yrio scored off a pass from Amine Merdjett to lift the Lions to victory in overtime. It was Yrio's second goal of the contest.
Noah Gulley scored first in the match in the 10th minute from an assist by Kaan Sen. Yrio tied the match at 1-all at the 22:07 mark off a cross from Kenny Anderson. Alex Mullen gave the Lions a 2-1 lead going into the locker room at halftime after he found the back of the net off a penalty kick at the 41:53 mark.
In the 73rd minute, Gioliano Andrade tied the match on a feed from Connor Norton-Baker. That score would send the teams into extra play.
Yrio scored the match winner at the 109:35 mark on a through-ball by Merdjett.
Oliver Pannell played the entire match for MHU and made five saves. Kyndle Cobb also played the entire contest in goal for Coker made two saves.
Mars Hill will host UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, October 15. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
