Whalen named SAC Defensive Player of the Week
Mars Hill goalkeeper Brennan Whalen was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill goalkeeper Brennan Whalen was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
Whalen, a senior from Cumming, Ga., picked up two shutout victories in the goal for the Lions last week with 1-0 win over Tusculum and a 1-0 win over No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne. Whalen made three saves against Tusculum and made two saves versus Lenoir-Rhyne. For the week, he had five saves and two shutouts in 180 minutes of action.
