ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (5-6-2, 2-5-1 SAC) was defeated by a score of 2-0 on the road versus Anderson (3-6-3, 2-4-3 SAC) Tuesday night.
The teams attempted six shots apiece in the first 45 minutes of play with Anderson breaking open the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal from Joao Martinho. Anderson goalkeeper Amos Uber stopped four shots in the first half.
Anderson controlled play in the second, outshooting Mars Hill 8-3 and adding an insurance goal from Pablo Sanz in the 54th minute of play.
Ben Lemen led the Trojans with three shots apiece while the duo of Braxton Robinson and Kevonte Willoughby-Williams attempted three aside for the Lions. Uber ended the night with five saves for the win while Brennan Whalen stopped six shots on the night.
The Lions welcome Emory & Henry on Friday, October 14 into Meares Stadium. Senior Day kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
