Randolph named BSN Offensive Player of Week
MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill tailback Jonas Randolph has been named the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Division II Week Seven National Offensive Player of the Week. The Daleville, Ala., native wins the award for the second time in 2011.
Randolph rushed 46 times for 331 yards (both new Mars Hill single-game records) and one touchdown in last Saturday's 31-28 overtime win at Catawba. The 331 yards on the ground were the most in Division II this season and the third-highest total in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) history. For his efforts, he was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Randolph leads the country in rushing yards and the SAC in rushing yards, rush attempts, rushing touchdowns and all-purpose yards. He is tied for first in the league in scoring and scoring touchdowns. He ranks third in conference history in rushing yards.
